Upasana Singh Thakuri is a Nepali actress and model, known for her significant contributions to the Nepali film industry. She was born on September 20, 1998, in Darchula, Nepal, and grew up in Kathmandu, where she completed her education. Currently, she is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree at Ace Institute of Management. Upasana's acting career took off with her debut in the sports drama "Captain" (2019), where she shared the screen with Anmol K.C. Her performance garnered nominations for Best Debut Actor (Female) at both the Dcine Awards and the NEFTA Film Awards.
She rose to fame with her role in the romantic comedy "Kabaddi Kabaddi Kabaddi" (2019), which achieved the highest-grossing opening for a film in Nepal. Her performance in this film was lauded for its emotional depth and authenticity. Upasana has continued to demonstrate her versatility with roles in films such as "December Falls" (2021), "Dui Nambari" (2022), and "Hattichhap" (2024). Her latest film, "Khusma" (2024), tells a love story set against the backdrop of the Nepalese Civil War, showcasing her commitment to socially relevant themes. To prepare for this role, she immersed herself in the local culture of Maikot village in the Rukum district.
