Saugat Malla, also known as सौगात मल्ल in Nepali, is a prominent Nepalese film actor and producer, recognized for his versatile performances in the Nepali film industry. Since his professional debut in 2008, Malla has showcased his talent across various genres, establishing himself as one of the leading figures in Nepalese cinema.

Malla's journey in the entertainment industry commenced at Aarohan Gurukul, Nepal's pioneering drama school, where he honed his acting skills in acclaimed productions such as "Oedipus Rex" and "Agni Ko Katha" at Gurukul Theater.

His cinematic debut came in 2008 with "Kagbeni," directed by Bhusan Dahal, followed by "K Yo Maya Ho" in 2011. However, it was his role as Haku Kale in Nischal Basnet's "Loot" (2012) that catapulted him to widespread recognition. "Loot" emerged as a major success, firmly establishing Malla as a bankable actor in Nepali cinema.

Following the success of "Loot," Malla continued to impress audiences with notable performances in films such as "Soongava: Dance of the Orchids" (2012), "Kathaa" (2013), "Mukhauta" (2014), and "Sadanga" (2015), showcasing his versatility and range as an actor.

In 2015, Malla charmed audiences with his portrayal of Bam Kaji in the romantic-comedy "Kabaddi Kabaddi," directed by Ram Babu Gurung, which emerged as one of the highest-grossing Nepalese films of the year. His nuanced performance earned him widespread acclaim and solidified his status as a pivotal figure in Nepalese cinema.

Subsequently, Malla's cinematic journey saw him essay diverse roles in films such as "Dying Candle" (2016), "Fanko" (2016), "Loot 2" (2017), and "Fateko Jutta" (2017), showcasing his ability to delve into various genres with finesse and authenticity.

Apart from his film endeavors, Malla ventured into the realm of reality television, appearing in an episode of the web series "Artists Support Programme—Fashion Artist Edition" in January 2018, further expanding his presence across different media platforms.

Born in Nadawa, Nawalparasi district, Lumbini province, into a Malla Thakuri family, Malla's roots trace back to the Kingdom of Dhurkot, presently located in Gulmi District. He spent his formative years in Parasi Bazar and pursued his education at Adarsh Madhyamik Bidhyalaya in Parasi.

Malla's dedication to his craft and his contributions to Nepalese cinema have earned him admiration and acclaim from audiences and critics alike. With a compelling repertoire of performances and a commitment to excellence, Saugat Malla continues to captivate audiences and leave an indelible mark on the landscape of Nepalese entertainment.
