Salon Basnet is a talented and engaging actor in the Nepali film industry, recognized for his ability to infuse both depth and humor into his performances. Born on March 23, 1991, in Thankot, Kathmandu, he was raised in a family with strong ties to the entertainment sector. His father, Shovit Basnet, is a well-known director, and Salon attributes his passion for acting to the influence of his family.
He started his acting career as a child artist in the film "Nepali Babu" (1999) and went on to appear in other films such as "Aafanta," "Dhukdhuki," and "Pinjada" during his formative years. However, it was his role as "Junge" in the movie "Hostel" (2013) that marked his breakthrough, bringing him widespread acclaim. Since then, he has featured in several successful films, including "Gajalu" (2016), "A Mero Hajur 2" (2017), "A Mero Hajur 3" (2019), "A Mero Hajur 4" (2022), and “Rangi” (2025).
Salon is also celebrated for his commitment to his craft and his ability to resonate with audiences through genuine and relatable performances. He has earned several awards for his work, including the NEFTA Film Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2015 and the Dcine Award in 2018.
On a personal note, Salon married Karishma KC in 2022 after a long-term relationship. The couple is admired for their chemistry and is regarded as one of the most beloved pairs in the industry.
