Ramesh Ranjan Jha is a versatile figure in Nepali and Maithili cinema, known as an actor, director, and writer. His journey commenced with the 1995 Maithili Drama Film "Kaniya." Jha's talent has earned him accolades, including National Film Awards and recognition at international film festivals. He notably received the Best Actor in a Negative Role at the Kamana Film Awards for his performance in "Sanrakshan."
Beyond cinema, Jha is an accomplished author, penning several books and novels like "Fhulba Haran," "Katha Sanghra" (a collection of stories), "Kabita Sanghra," "Sankarman," "DomKach" (Maithili Drama), "Umash" (Nepali Novel), "Sangor" (Maithili Novel), "Murda," "Rakt Barsha," and "RangRag," among others.
He served as the former chief of the Drama Department and Academician at the Nepal Academy of Music & Drama from 2010 to 2018.
