Ramkrishna Dhakal is a renowned Nepali singer, primarily known for his contributions to modern-flavored songs. His musical journey began in his early childhood when he started singing famous songs by Narayan Gopal, often referred to as the "Emperor of Voice" in Nepal. In the initial phase of his career, he faced struggles while performing with various groups. However, he eventually received a breakthrough that established him as one of Nepal's finest singers.
One of the songs that catapulted him to fame was "Orali Lageko Harin Ko Chhal Bho." His singing ability and unique voice, though not fully matured at the time, left a lasting impression on people. Ramkrishna Dhakal openly acknowledges that he is a big fan of the late maestro Narayan Gopal and modeled his singing style after him. He filled a void left by Narayan Gopal's untimely death, as people were searching for the next great voice in Nepali music.
Ramkrishna Dhakal has released numerous albums of modern songs and ghazals, with a distinctive tradition of naming all his albums starting with the letter "A." Some of his notable albums include "Aashish," "Aashirbad," "Asha," "Aroha," "Aashraye," "Adhar," and "Aagraha." Among these, "Aasha" stands out as the most popular album.
In addition to his work in modern music, he has also lent his voice to bhajans, patriotic songs (rastriya geet), and numerous film songs. Furthermore, Ramkrishna Dhakal ventured into the world of acting, taking on a lead role in the Nepali film "Aashirbad." The film's storyline was inspired by his own personal struggles and his rise to fame, with the support of his godfather, Gopal Karmacharya. Through his dedication and talent, Ramkrishna Dhakal has become a prominent figure in the Nepali music industry.
