Raju Lama is a notable Nepalese singer-songwriter, known for his involvement in the musical band Mongolian Heart. Born on March 16, 1978, he is not only recognized for his musical talents but also for his achievements as an Everester, having reached the summit of Mt. Everest on May 16, 2022.
The climb, titled 'Raju Lama Everest Expedition,' was conducted with the aim of raising awareness about climate change and the impacts of global warming. During this expedition, Lama actively advocated for the reduction of carbon emissions and highlighted how climate change directly affects the lives of people living in mountainous regions.
An interesting aspect of his Everest expedition is the solo concert titled 'Music for a Cause' that he performed between Camp 2 and Camp 3 at an altitude of 6574 meters. This concert is noted as one of the highest musical performances on land. The dual purpose of his expedition, combining music and activism, demonstrates his commitment to using his influence for positive change.
Apart from his musical and mountaineering pursuits, Raju Lama has also been involved in charitable activities. He volunteered to assist the victims of a recent flood in Sindhupalchowk, showcasing his dedication to helping communities in need.
