Narayan Gopal Guruacharya, professionally known as Narayan Gopal and N. Gopal, was a highly prominent and influential singer and composer of Nepali music. He was born on October 4, 1939, and passed away on December 5, 1990. Narayan Gopal is widely regarded as one of the most significant cultural icons in Nepal, and he is often referred to as "Swar Samrat," which translates to "Emperor of Voice" in Nepali.

Narayan Gopal possessed an exceptional vocal range, allowing him to sing songs from various Nepalese musical genres. His performances were often accompanied by musical instruments such as the sitar, harmonium, and flute. He was not only a renowned singer but also a music director, actively contributing to Nepali music from the 1950s to the 1970s. He was part of the first generation of professional Nepali singers and left an indelible mark on the music industry.

Throughout his career, Narayan Gopal released a total of 137 songs. His early songs were composed by his friends Prem Dhoj Pradhan and Manik Ratna. His soulful and melodious compositions were featured in numerous movies and dramas across Nepal.

Narayan Gopal received numerous awards and accolades during his lifetime, and his contributions to Nepali music continue to be celebrated and cherished by music enthusiasts in Nepal and beyond.
