Melina Manandhar, originally named Sunita Manandhar and born on January 23, 1977, is a prominent Nepalese actress, model, and producer with a versatile career in the entertainment industry. She has showcased her talents in various mediums, including films, telefilms, television serials, and music videos, predominantly in Nepali and Newar languages.
Melina made her debut in the film "Priyasi" in 1993 and has since then established herself as a prominent figure in the Nepali film industry. She has appeared in over sixty Nepali and Nepal Bhasa language films and television dramas throughout her career. Notably, she played a supporting role in the period drama "Prem Pinda" (1995), which is considered a classic in Nepali cinema.
Beyond her acting career, Melina has ventured into production. She produced a Nepali film titled "Jwalamukhi" and also worked on a television show called "Karuna," which aired on Nepal Television.
Her talent and dedication to her craft were recognized when she received the National Film Award in a special category as the Best Actress for her performance in the Nepal Bhasa film "Balamaiju" in 2010.
In 2014, she was appointed as a member of the Censor Board of Nepal by the Ministry of Information and Communication, further contributing to the Nepali film industry in a different capacity.
