Manila Sotang, originally hailing from Darjeeling, India, embarked on a musical journey in Kathmandu alongside her husband, Uday Sotang, during the late 1980s. Their relocation was driven by a shared aspiration for a career in music. The Sotang family's musical legacy extends to their daughter, Shreya Sotang, who is a singer with her own album releases.
Manila's introduction to music occurred at an early age, guided by her uncle who taught her the art of singing bhajans. Her talent was brought to the forefront when she provided playback vocals for the film "Mayalu." This marked her emergence as a notable singer in the industry. Over the years, Manila has lent her voice to over 200 songs, demonstrating her versatility and skill.
Together with her husband, Uday Sotang, Manila has created a remarkable musical legacy, producing 10 music albums. As a husband-wife musical duo, they have made significant contributions to the realm of Nepali Adhunik (modern) music for over two-and-a-half decades, leaving an indelible mark on the industry.
