Jharna Bajracharya (Nepalese: झरना बज्राचार्य) is a renowned Nepalese film actress, known for her captivating performances. She achieved fame early in her life when she was crowned Miss Nepal in 1997, an impressive feat at the age of sixteen.
Jharana Bajracharya's educational journey took her through Siddhartha Vanasthali Institute, where she completed her schooling. Beyond her acting career, she is a talented painter and potter, holding a degree in sociology. Her mother, Mrs. Lalana Bajracharya, is an accomplished individual with a degree in psychology. Interestingly, Jharana's father carries the surname Rashid and is a Nepalese Muslim, making her full name Jharana Bajracharya Rashid.
Her foray into the Nepali entertainment industry commenced after her Miss Nepal win in 1997, at the tender age of 16. This opened doors for her to represent Nepal in the Miss World contest, held in Baie Lazare, Seychelles, on November 22, 1997.
Jharana Bajracharya's acting career began with the film "Hatiyar," where she played a significant role alongside the leading lady Karishma Manandhar, co-starring opposite Rajesh Hamal.
She ventured into Bollywood, featuring in the Hindi film "Love in Nepal" and various advertisements. Despite her efforts, she couldn't establish a prominent presence in Bollywood, leading her to return to Nepal. In addition to her film roles, Jharana has also graced numerous music videos. Her final Nepali film, "Kohi Mero," was released in mid-2010. Jharana Bajracharya's talent extended to the stage as she performed with Alok Nembang at the Fem Botanica KTV film awards in October 2008.
