Deshbhakta Khanal embarked on his journey in the entertainment industry as a stage actor, showcasing his talent in productions like 'Gorakha Bhartikendra' and 'Merchant of Venice.' Transitioning to television, he began as an assistant director, marking his debut with the TV series 'Guruaama Nepalki.' His venture into feature films commenced with 'Bijaya Parajaya,' where he served as both an actor and assistant director.
Since then, Khanal has etched his presence in the Nepali entertainment sphere, amassing a remarkable repertoire. His portfolio boasts over 20 feature films, 45 TV serials, and 35 audio and stage dramas. Not confined to acting, Khanal expanded his creative horizons, contributing significantly as a scriptwriter, lending his talent to approximately 20 projects.
In 1999, Khanal transitioned into a full-fledged director, leaving an indelible mark in Nepali cinema. He helmed notable films such as 'Pinjada,' 'Man Mero Mandaina,' 'Santan Thari Tharika,' 'Baazee,' and 'Achanak.' Notably, his expertise extended beyond borders, as evidenced by his collaboration on international projects. His involvement in 'Miteri Gaun (Tomodachi No Mura),' a Japanese film, showcased his versatility as a scriptwriter, assistant director, and actor.
Continuing his international journey, Khanal is set to make an appearance in the upcoming American movie 'Highway to Dhampus,' further solidifying his footprint on the global stage. His multifaceted talents and extensive experience across various realms of the entertainment industry mark him as a versatile and accomplished figure in Nepali cinema.
