Deepak Raj Giri, a multifaceted talent in Nepali entertainment, has made remarkable contributions as an actor, comedian, writer, director, and producer. Known for his significant role in the success of the Chhakka Panja series, he's regarded as one of the most accomplished and highest-grossing actors in Nepali cinema.
His legacy in Nepali entertainment began with the iconic sitcom Tito Satya, which he wrote, directed, and starred in for an impressive 12-year run from 2003 to 2015.
While he had roles in numerous films, it was in 2008 with Sundar Mero Naam that he earned critical acclaim in a lead role, despite the film not achieving commercial success.
His venture into producing, writing, and acting came to fruition with Chha Ekan Chha in 2014, followed by Woda Number 6 in 2015, both of which were commercially successful projects.
The Chhakka Panja franchise, initiated in 2016, showcases his prowess as a producer, writer, and lead actor. Its sequels, Chhakka Panja 2 and Chhakka Panja 3, were significant successes, earning Giri accolades for "best story and screenplay" at the NEFTA awards.
In 2018, he produced and appeared in Shatru Gate, a blockbuster success co-starring the Maha Jodi duo.
Continuing his streak, Giri created, produced, and starred in Chha Maya Chhapakkai in 2019, securing the National Film Award in the "best actor" category.
Though his hosting stint on Crime Patrol Nepal in 2022 was brief, his impact as a versatile artist persisted. His most recent achievement was in 2023 with Chhakka Panja 4, a box office hit that further solidified his reputation in Nepali cinema, earning more than 16.9 crores.
