Danny Denzongpa, originally named Tshering Phintso Denzongpa, is a versatile Indian actor, singer, and film director. He has had a prolific career in the Indian film industry, primarily working in Hindi cinema while occasionally appearing in Bengali, Nepali, and Tamil films. His contributions to Indian cinema span over five decades, during which he has acted in more than 190 films since his debut in 1971.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment, Danny Denzongpa was honored with the Padma Shri in 2003, one of India's highest civilian awards.
Throughout his illustrious career, Danny Denzongpa has portrayed a wide range of characters, showcasing his remarkable versatility as an actor. He is well-known for his iconic villainous roles in movies such as "Dhund," "36 Ghante," "Bandish," "Jeeo Aur Jeene Do," "Pyar Jhukta Nahin," "Aandhi-Toofan," "Agneepath," "Hum," "Krantiveer," "Indian," and "Enthiran."
On the other hand, his positive and heroic roles have also left a lasting impact on audiences, with notable performances in films like "Chor Machaye Shor," "Fakira," "Kalicharan," "Devata," "Bulundi," "Adhikar," "Aag Hi Aag," and "China Gate."
In addition to his acting career, Danny Denzongpa ventured into film direction, with his film "Phir Wahi Raat" being regarded as one of the top five best horror suspense films in Hindi cinema.
