Balendra Shah, popularly known as Balen Shah, is a multifaceted personality from Nepal, excelling as a rapper, structural engineer, and politician. Born on April 27, 1990, in Kathmandu, he is the youngest son of Ram Narayan Shah, an Ayurvedic practitioner, and Dhruva Devi Shah. Balen's journey into the limelight began with his passion for music and poetry, which led him to the Nepali hip-hop scene. He gained recognition through his participation in the rap battle series Raw Barz.

In addition to his musical career, Balen pursued a strong academic foundation, earning a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Himalayan Whitehouse International College and a master's degree in structural engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University in India. His diverse talents and leadership qualities propelled him into politics, where he made history by becoming the first independent candidate to be elected as the Mayor of Kathmandu in 2022.

As mayor, Balen has focused on initiatives like solid waste management, river conservation, and transparency in governance. His bold and innovative approach has made him a prominent figure in Nepali politics and a source of inspiration for the youth.
